Reporting to Parents and Carers about Student Progress
Parents’ evenings
Dates for these differ according to year group and are available on the academy calendar. Parents’ evenings are an opportunity to develop the parent-teacher-academy partnership and find out about your child’s progress at school – academic, social and extra-curricular. Asking about your child’s strengths and weaknesses, what the academy is doing to support them, and how you can continue this at home, are all important questions to get answers to.
Please see the section on the website about assessment for more information about how progress and grades are calculated and the information contained in pupil reports.
Student planners
All students are given a planner at the start of each term. This contains useful academy information and space in which to record homework on a daily basis. Your daughter should have written her homework and any other tasks relevant to her learning into this planner. Parents are expected to sign the planner each week, as will your daughter's Coach. Parents with any specific concerns about this should in the first instance contact the Coach.
Questions and concerns
If parents and carers have any questions about any of the above then this can be taken up initially with the Coach of your child. Your daughter’s head of house is also a useful point of contact. Please do feel free to contact us via the school website or by phone.
