Girls take part in Football League Girls Cup at Millwall
28 November 2014
On 25 November eight students from years 7 and 8 were selected to participate in the 2014/15 Football League Girls Cup, held at The Lions Centre (Millwall Football Club). For many of these girls it was their first experience at playing in a football league.
Each season The Football League organises two cup competitions for junior footballers from schools across the country, with the finals being played at Wembley. The following school took part in the competition: City of London, St Mathews Academy, Notre Dame, Deptfood Green, Kingsdale and Conisborough.
The girls played well and had high spirits throughout all their games. Jasmine and Trishana each scored and Kerisha scored twice. Despite out efforts we didn't have enough points to go through to the finals. The girls will continue to attend football training and hope to compete in more fixtures soon.
