Basketball shoot out competition
Bola Adeoshun, Basketball Captain, Year 10, writes about the academy's basketball shoot out event earlier this month.
On Wednesday 9th March, there was a basketball shoot out held in the sports hall, which was organised by the sports council. The aim was to give students in the academy a chance to experience other sports that the academy has to offer.
Four shooting stations were set up around the sports hall under four separate baskets and participants had to shoot from five separate spots, each worth different points. Many students who participated won a prize of a Midnight Madness Basketball DVD, about the biggest British summer basketball showcase, which includes a junior girls event.
Overall the event turned out to be a success, with a lot of Key Stage 3 students participating. I would like to thank the members of the sports council for their support in this event.
