Outstanding Results at Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich
Students at Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich have achieved the school’s best ever results.
Four in five students (80%) achieved A*-C grades in both English and Maths. This is up from 76% last summer.
42% of girls at the school achieved the demanding Ebacc, up from 32% last summer.
Sir Dan Moynihan, CEO of the Harris Federation said:
“We are exceptionally pleased for students at the academy, who have worked very hard in the years leading up to the exams. This year’s results firmly establish the academy as a leading secondary school in which students of all backgrounds and abilities do very well.
“The decade since Waverley Girls’ School was replaced by the academy seems to have passed very quickly, but the aspirations and achievements of the school have been completely transformed in that time. In summer 2006, just 31% of students at Waverley achieved five good GCSEs, but now it is a high-achieving school which Ofsted calls ‘outstanding’.

This year, the government has introduced a new performance measure called Progress 8 which indicates the progress made by students in secondary school across eight key subjects. Based on 2015 national averages, the academy’s score is likely to be 0.97. This is higher than the national average which is always set at 0.
