Staff and Students Support ECHO Christmas Party
Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich kept up with tradition by contributing to the annual Christmas party for children with heart conditions, their siblings, parents and carers.
ECHO (Evelina Children's Heart Organisation) is a charity which supports children with heart conditions and their families. ECHO provide comprehensive support from the point of diagnosis, which is often during pregnancy, through to the child's teenage years and beyond, including bereavement support for parents and siblings. Children with heart conditions often face an uncertain future, where medical tests and treatment become normality. Many families find it difficult to cope and welcome the support ECHO provides.
The party was hosted by Millwall Football Club who for the eighth time donated their largest hospitality suite. The suite was lavishly decked with baubles, tinsel and balloons, while the entertainment included rides, circus acts, football skills, magic shows, face painting, games and crafts activities.
HGAED baked biscuits for the biscuit decorating table which was very popular as well as materials to make your own key ring. Students manned the face painting stations and staff were on hand to encourage the children to get involved!
