Red Nose Day. Your Chance to Take Part, Friday 24 March

Red Nose Day

A message to all parents from Miah, Haja and Fiona, Year 8.

Dear Parents/Guardian,

We would like to inform you that on the 24 March 2017 the nation will be celebrating and raising money for Red Nose Day.

This year the students will be organising the day’s events. On the day, students will be walking around with red noses to sell for a £1. Please support this amazing charity and donate.

Activities your daughter can take part in are:

  • Bake your own cake (you can make your cake the day before in the food tech room or at home).
  • Make your own poster (related to Red Nose Day).
  • Guess how many sweets in the jar (50p a guess). The closest to the exact amount wins the jar of sweets.
  • There will be a staff vs sixth form netball match after school on 23rd March from 3.30-3.50pm - students can watch but must pay 50p.

The money we raise will help people living really tough lives in the UK and across Africa. For example, £2.50 could buy a mosquito net to protect a family in Africa. In the UK, £5 could pay for an isolated elderly person with dementia to have dinner at their local support group. On their behalf, thank you.

We will also be using Red Nose Day as a learning opportunity to help our pupils explore the issues facing young children across the world, and how the money we raise can help.

We really appreciate your support and hope that you’ll have fun helping Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich raise lots of money for Red Nose Day.

Yours sincerely,

Miah, Haja and Fiona in Imperial 8A.
