HGAED Girls Win Southwark Public Speaking Competition
Two HGAED girls finished in the top three at the Southwark Area Finals of the 2017 Jack Petchey “Speak Out” Challenge – a fantastic performance by our girls.
Hafsa (pictured right) won first place Rotimi (pictured below) came third after giving incredibly strong performances – the result of many hours of hard work.
“Both our girls were articulate, confident and engaging,” said Ms Clarke. “HGAED also had a large group of supporters at the event who were fantastic.”
The event is run by Speakers Trust and funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation and is designed to give young people the skills, confidence and desire to speak in public.
There were 12 schools and 15 competitors involved in the Southwark Area Finals. A massive ‘well done’ to both Rotimi and Hafsa!
