Harris Federation Dragons Praise HGAED Girls
HGAED girls competed in the annual Harris Federation Dragons Den competition last week, at Harris Greenwich.
Six schools took part - presenting their business idea to a panel of dragons who listened and quizzed them about their plans. The theme this year was “making the world a better place”.
Our girls came up with an ingenious plan called The Penny Challenge.
The idea is that we are too busy in our lives to help others… but what if there was a way to collect for charity that involved very little time or effort? Just 1p per week from each child (and staff member) at our school would raise £312 per year. And if this plan was rolled out across the whole Federation it could raise £19,000 a year.

The team were commended on the quality of the presentation and detailed planning but we were pipped at the post by the hosts Harris Greenwich. This was a disappointment for the team but they plan to implement the idea anyway next academic year at HGAED.
The girls showed real commitment and passion, working on their presentation really hard. Congratulations to Sumaiya and Sarah (Year 9), and Shahana, Alanis, Marian and Aisha (Year 8).
