Develop Your Cyber Skills - Three Opportunities to Try
Are you looking to develop your cyber skills while you are at home? Here are three opportunities to ethically stretch your cyber skills and develop new knowledge, whilst having fun at the same time!
Cyber Discovery is the government’s cyber schools project - a free, online extracurricular programme, turning teenagers across the country into cyber security experts. Pupils can explore and have a go at over 200 online cyber security challenges. Learn how to crack codes, find security flaws and dissect criminals’ digital trails whilst playing as a cyber agent in our Cyber Protection Agency. Students with no previous experience or interest have gone on to master techniques such as SQL injection and XXS.
The National Crime Agency's Cyber Security Challenge is a selection of interactive resources and games that aim to introduce you to different aspects of Cyber Security. Why not try your hand at navigating your way through a series of challenges. There's a codebreaking exercise set in the historic Bletchley Park with Codestrike, for example, or you can defend several office buildings against a cyber attack with Outbreak and complete a series of cyber security related tasks in Cyber Land.
Cyber First is created by the National Cyber Security Centre (part of GCHQ) as a programme of opportunities helping young people explore their passion for tech by introducing them to the world of cyber security. It's for anyone, whatever your age, and not just for the genius coders either! It's for all sorts of tech and computing passions - including livestreamers with their own gaming vlogs or Instagrammers who could find the perfect angle in their sleep!
