Opening Once Again - A Poem by Reana, Age 12
We were really moved by this poem, written by Reana in Year 7. We thought you'd like to read it too. We can't wait to see all our girls next week :-)
Opening Once Again
We are all longing to be back in school on eighth of March,
And to sit on the lifeless desks that pass row by row.
We all can’t wait to see all our teachers and all our friends,
We want to see the great smiles and chant hello!
And we can’t wait to be off screens all the time,
And for the normal life to resume...
To hear real voices - not over a speaker
And see the school’s spring flowers florescence - ready to bloom.
We’re steadily conquering the path of obstacles,
To see a light of opportunities coming in through the opening door,
For we are HGAED,
And we won’t let nothing stop us from achieving above the score.
Feeling exited for the return,
But anxious about COVID-19,
Masks being worn and sanitizing hands often,
Keeping safe and keeping clean.
Home or school...
We still thrive to be our best,
For we are HGAED,
We amaze and we always impress.
