Winter Cabaret - 90 Minutes of Song, Dance, Drama and Music
Our winter celebration at the end of the autumn term was a themed cabaret performed by students in Years 7-9.
During three performances over three days, the cast entertained with song, dance, monologues, rhythmic gymnastics, and drama performances as well as musical performances of keyboards, drums, flute and steel pans.
This was a new approach at HGAED as we chose a relaxed performance which included audience participation and several opportunities for them to show their appreciation.
The 90-minute entertainment was very well received, especially the surprise performances by two members of staff; Mr Brown, who gave a dramatic reading of The Cratchit’s Christmas from Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and a show stopping performance of On My Own from Les Miserable, by Ms Rushbridger.
It’s fair to say that everyone enjoyed the show and that this won't be the last cabaret at HGAED!
