HGAED Fine Artists at UAL and Oxford College
Year 12 artists were invited to collaborate with University of Arts London (UAL) on a Cultural Outreach Programme recently.
This included a visit to the Body, Vessel Clay exhibition at Two Temple Place, London, a series of clay workshops in school and at UAL, and a trip to Oxford Kilns to see their work fired in a raku kiln.
We also got to visit Harris Manchester College and have a look around. The building itself was majestic and inspiring, and on entering the library all of us felt instantly far more intelligent!
But it is the simple things in life that resonate with us most, and on hearing that the postcards were free made this one of the students' favourite places visited during the project.
However, the highlight of the trip had to be the students singing The Hills are Alive from the Sound of Music as they ran across the Oxfordshire fields. Learning comes in many shapes and forms, but having fun is the most important one!
