Year 10 Experience Rome's Rich History
A group of Year 10 pupils visited Rome earlier this month, exploring some of its most famous landmarks.
Our first stop was the Trevi Fountain, where pupils learned about its elaborate design and the tradition of tossing a coin to ensure a return to Rome. They eagerly joined in, throwing coins into the fountain.
Our day ended at the Spanish Steps, where pupils enjoyed the lively atmosphere and heard a brief history of the steps and their cultural significance. We then visited the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, where pupils were amazed by Michelangelo's paintings, especially the ceiling and The Last Judgment. A guide explained the art techniques and the religious meanings behind the works.

Next, we toured St. Peter's Basilica, admiring its stunning architecture and important artworks such as Michelangelo's Pietà and Bernini's altar. Our last visit was the Colosseum, where explored the fascinating details about its history and the events that took place there, including gladiatorial games.
This trip gave pupils a firsthand look at Rome's rich history and culture, enhancing their classroom learning and leaving a lasting impression on everyone who visited.
