Orchestral Playing Day Project at Queen Elizabeth Hall
It was an honour for our pupils to collaborate with Southwark Music on the Orchestral Playing Day project in February at the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
It was an amazing and exciting opportunity and experience for both the pupils and teachers alike. Watching HGAED pupils composing pieces of music from scratch, rehearsing them and then performing in front of their family and friends at an evening concert was an awesome experience.
The pupils taking part in this project were driven, resilient, passionate and determined in their endeavors to do themselves, the academy, their families, friends and Southwark Music proud.
They absolutely succeeded, as every single piece of new composed music performed was stunning. We are hugely proud of the HGAED students who took part: Grace H, Ava M, Jayla MF, Maud GS, Kiyera R, Eloise C, Abigail L, April H, Anaiah B, Simrah A-B, Kari A and Rafiat O.
