Top 1% in England for student progress
Students make more progress at Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich than at 99% of other state schools in England, according to new figures released by Ofsted in January.
Students’ progress was measured in their best eight subjects, with Ofsted comparing their performance at the end of year 11 with when they joined the school.
Our students were in the top 1% nationally for progress made, and amongst the best schools in London.
This follows last year’s success, when the academy was in the top 3% nationally.
“We are particularly pleased that we performed exceptionally well at all ability levels, including for our most able students,” said Principal Jane Fletcher
High achieving students generally make significantly more progress at Harris compared to schools nationally. For example, 100% of our most able students met or exceeded their expected progress in Maths, compared to just 86% nationally.
“This is a tremendous achievement and one of which all our students, teachers and parents should be immensely proud.”
Value added scores
Value added scores (for student progress) are based upon the best eight subjects a student takes. Our academy got a score of 1061.9, which puts us in the top 1% in England. Nationally in 2012, Girls achieved a score of 1009.0 and boys 990.5.
