Olivier award-nominated actress Cush Jumbo inspires students
Actress Cush Jumbo came in to school last week and a few lucky students had the chance to meet her.
Cush, who has just been nominated for an Olivier award for her role as Mark Anthony in an all-female production of Julius Ceasar in the West End, spoke to students about how she got into acting; how her enjoyment of Shakespeare developed after school; gave tips on learning lines (important for those students starring in Guys and Dolls this summer), and spoke about the importance of working hard at what you enjoy.
She also told a few anecdotes, revealed Julius Ceasar will be going to Broadway in the Autumn, and, at the request of a student, gave one of her Mark Antony speeches from that very production - money couldn't buy tickets, so this was an exclusive all of our own!
