Welcome to The Harris Experience
Space exploration, logic and historical research are just three of the topics our most able students will study as part of a new programme called The Harris Experience.
Launched last month, the programme will stretch talented students and introduce them to topics not covered by the national curriculum. The Harris Experience includes:
- special visits and trips – including to Christie’s auctioneers and behind-the-scenes visits to the National Theatre
- masterclasses on topics such as philosophical debate, art history and space travel
- individual mentoring to make sure students achieve to the best of their ability in all subjects.
Top universities
The aim of the programme is to help students develop the skills and interests they need to make successful applications to the UK’s very top universities. “I am excited because I think this programme will expand my knowledge of the world,” said Ebony, year 9.
The Harris Experience opened last month with a lecture at Christie’s on Holbein’s The Ambassadors. ‘The lecture helped us dig deeper into the meaning of the picture and its symbolism, so we could appreciate it more fully,’ said Ruqayyah, year 9.
“The Harris Experience will help our most able students make successful applications to Britain’s leading universities,” said Ellie Carding, Assistant Principal.
The most able year 9 students will have the chance to broaden their cultural horizons through the new Harris Experience programme. Pictured below: Ariel, Ebony, Fathia, Isio, Julie, Marika, Ruqayyah, Shahanaz, Shawite, Veronica.
