Session for parents on new GCSE marking scheme

Staff at the academy held a session last night for parents on the new GCSE marking scheme. Instead of the current system, grades will be marked from one to nine.

The move is designed to coincide with the launch of new-style GCSEs. The first students to be marked under the new system will be the current Year 9, whose English Language, English Literature and Maths exams will be marked under the new scheme. Current Year 8 students will be the first students who will see all their exams marked in the new way.
