Aspirational Careers Week 2015

Our Aspirational Careers Week took place from January 12th -16th and introduced and educated our students on a broad range of careers that they might aspire to in the future.

The week was designed to provide students with information on many different careers, outside of those they are exposed to in everyday life, from a wide range of subject areas.

All teaching staff dedicated the first 5-10 minutes of their lessons to covering information on different careers within their subject area.  This consisted of:

  • a day in the life of a Trader, Human Resource Manager, Business Analyst etc.
  • different careers and what each entail
  • skills and qualifications needed for different careers
  • famous / renowned individuals and their achievements within a career / degree
  • average gross salaries of a particularly career

to name just a few.

Careers 2Future Pathways Event January 13th, 12.30-7pm

Within this week was our Future Pathways Event where many guest speakers from different industries and higher education institutes visit.

The event included workshops, presentations and displays to provide information to our students. Students throughout years 7-13 were given the opportunity to opt into the different workshops and presentations on offer and from 3-7pm all students and parents were invited to our hall, which was full of informative stalls from our guest visitors.

The event was a huge success with record-attendance from guests, students and parents.

Careers 4Careers soundbite clips

In addition to this weeks’ events, we have added to our soundbite clips on our plasma screens throughout the school, to further provide an insight into a range of different careers.
