"Throw Your Rubbish in the Bin, it's Not Hard."
A group of Year 7 students took part in a workshop with an artist to create an artwork in response to litter and the environment.
Students worked together to create mixed media wall hangings expressing their ideas and opinions about litter around the school, and presented their ideas to the whole school during a week of assemblies supported by year 11 Citizenship students.
What students said
‘Thousands of plastic items every year end up somewhere in the ocean. These turn in to giant islands of plastic bags, bottles and toys; the biggest of which is known as the 7th continent. It’s is not only humans that are affected by this, it also affects animals.’ Celestina
‘An artist came in to school and led a workshop with a group of year 7s. She helped us express our thoughts and feelings after watching the Chris Jordan video. I think it is really unfair to let other people pick up your litter. We should help our community by not littering and picking up litter. Throw your rubbish in the bin, it’s not hard.’ Amina
