Authentic Theatrical Experience at Shakespeare's Globe
Globe Education produced a fabulous performance of Twelfth Night, with an audience of school groups who were captivated by the fast-paced action.
The production, sponsored by the Deutsche Bank youth engagement programme, was an opportunity for 120 of our students to visit the theatre free of charge.
Seeing a show at the Globe reminds us that the theatre used to be a very popular form of entertainment that would have been attended by all classes and would have had a very lively ambiance, with traders selling to groundlings and actors having to grab and maintain the audience’s attention throughout the show.
Despite the cold (and rain!), Harris Girls' students, some of whom have studied Twelfth Night, were surprised by some of the more modern touches to the production, including a rendition of the ubiquitous Whip/Nae Nae song!
