£6,000 Raised for Children's Heart Charity
We’ll soon be handing over a cheque for £6000 to ECHO, the Evelina Children’s Heart Organisation, a charity which supports children and young people with heart conditions who receive treatment at the Evelina Children’s Hospital (pictured)
All the money has been raised by students through our social enterprise HOPE (Helping Others Promoting Enterprise), and will be used to provide craft equipment and sessions at the hospital to help reduce children’s stress and give siblings something creative and fun to do together.
“Art activities allow people to express their feelings in a way that is therapeutic,” said one of the hospital’s play therapists. “It gives people an outlet rather than talking and helps people create nice memories together amidst all the stressful ones.”
