Year 9 Perform Richard III on London Stage

Richard III

Year 9 GCSE drama students took part in a production of Richard III at the Sam Wannamaker Playhouse on June 10.

It was the culmination of 13 weeks of rehearsals, working with a professional actor/director from the Globe Theatre, Jonathan Wolf, and supported by their teachers, Ms Osborne and Ms O’Neill.

The students worked hard to learn their lines, develop characterisation and physicality in time for the performance at the intimate indoor theatre at the Shakepsepare's Globe.

Parents attended the evening show and were very proud of their daughter’s performances. The Drama department at HGAED is now looking ahead to our next encounter with Shakespeare in 2017.
