Harris Federation Chess Tournament
Five of our students represented Harris Girls’ in the Harris Federation Chess Tournament, which took place at Harris Morden last week.
Amazon, Adriana, Belen, Leneshia and Zaneshia took part in the tournament, which was open to all students from Year 7-10 across the Federation.
“In a game of strategy and critical thinking the girls displayed a great degree of mental grit and determination,” said Mr Zainuddin, who coached the team.
For most of our students it was the first time taking part in a tournament. Although we did not reach the later stages on this occasion, the girls benefited from experiencing the challenge of competing at a high level.
“We plan to continue our growing team and push on further next year,” said Mr Zainuddin.
