Latin Students Visit Oxford College
Latin students spent the day in Oxford recently, visiting Worcester College.
Hosted by Dr Scott Scullion, Professor in Classical Languages and Literature, we visited the beautiful grounds of the college and ate in the dining hall.
We visited the library and chapel too, and had a special opportunity to see Dr Scullion’s office and see his private collection of Greek books, some dating back to the 1540s.
We also visited the Ashmolean Museum, the world’s first university museum, which has a famous and diverse Greek and Roman collection ranging from statues and pottery to beautiful gems and jewellery.
Many of the students expressed an interest in visiting more of Oxford and its colleges after a really impressive and rewarding visit. We hope that they will consider applications to Oxford University in the future… watch this space!
