Working with Horses at Dulwich Stables
Students attended Dulwich stables recently for a morning of horse grooming and learning about working with horses; training them and maintaining them.
Students assisted in feeding and grooming, and learnt that rearing horses is incredibly demanding but rewarding.
The aim of the morning was to learn about non-verbal communication and students learnt that a confident and calm demeanour around these large animals leads to a trusting and mutually beneficial relationship between horse and groom.
We hope that the girls will bring this knowledge forward with them in school and future social situations and that they enjoyed their morning with the memorable characters they met around the yard (although we had to explain to students who Del-boy was!).
