Healthy Schools 'Gold' Award for HGAED
Congratulations to our wonderful Sarah Thompson (pictured centre) for her support in achieving our Healthy Schools Gold Award. We are one of only 244 primary and secondary schools across the whole of London to have achieved 'Gold', and the only secondary school in Southwark.
Healthy Schools London is an awards programme that will reach out to every London child, working with schools to improve children and young peoples' wellbeing.
To achieve the Gold standard, schools must undertake an analysis of pupils’ needs and identify new actions that will help them achieve and maintain good health and wellbeing. In addition, schools must show the impact of the changes they have made and that these are sustainable. They will need to show how they have engaged the wider community, and supported others to help children maintain a healthy weight, healthy lifestyle and wellbeing.
We are very proud to be one of a select group of secondary schools in London to have achieve this Gold standard.
Sarah is pictured receiving the award from Southwark Director of Education Nina Dohel and Lead Minister Cllr Ali at the Promoting Emotional, Social & Physical Wellbeing in Southwark Early Years and Secondary Schools event on 28th March.
