London Zoo Trip For Year 12 Psychology And Biology Students
Year 12 A level Psychology and Biology students enjoyed a great day out at London Zoo in March.
They attended a workshop led by the Zoological Society of London on animal learning and intelligence. They learned how the principles of classical and operant conditioning are used to support the running of the zoo, for example in supporting animal wellbeing by conditioning them to be comfortable accepting treatment from a vet.
We also reflected on how researching animal behaviour can help us understand human behaviour and recognised the power of observational learning when we took part in a paper plane-making experiment.
