Waveboarding a big hit
New waveboards purchased through our Sports Specialism fund are proving a big hit with our year 9 students.
Waveboarding is a combination of snowboarding (without the snow) and skateboarding. It is a great way to develop core strength, dynamic balance and muscular endurance.
'I enjoyed it because it’s a fun way to exercise and gets your heart pumping,' said Jade.
Emine said: 'I’ve really enjoyed it because I’ve never done this before and it’s a new experience. And I was really good at it which was a surprise!'. Busra added: ' Its convinced me to take part in sports more!'
Year 9 students were the first to experience the new waveboards, which give girls another way to maintain or improve their fitness.
