Year 7 trampoline award
Deztinie from year 7 has been given the Jack Petchey award for her participation, effort and achievement in trampolining club for the Autumn term.
The award was made by members of the Key Stage 3 Trampolining Club.
Deztinie has attended every single week and has shown a natural talent in this sport. She can already perform swivel hips, front drops and is beginning to learn back drops. Sommersaults are only a few weeks away!
With the prize from the award, the girls have decided to purchase new trampolining slippers which can be worn during club. These help with grip and will be worn during their upcoming British Gymnastics Proficiency Trampolining Exams.
‘I really like trampolining. It is fun and there are a lot of my friends there,’ says Deztinie.
Ms Colebourne, Head of Sport and Fitness and the trampolining coach says: ‘Deztinie is a natural athlete and is able to master skills with very little practise. This may be due to her courage, willingness to give anything a go and determination to succeed....everything a good athlete should have!’
