New STEM Club On Monday Lunchtime - Live Smarter
STEM club has been launched this term with a huge turnout of 16 girls. This term we are working on how we can live smarter.
Human beings are smart – we have transformed the world and thought up some wondrous inventions. But what will the future hold for planet earth and the people who inhabit it? Can we use new technology and inventions to improve the quality of our lives as well as the world we live in?
The club investigates how you can use science, design and technology to find ways we can live smarter, from creating a game to saving water at home, to investigating how we can use our living space more efficiently using digital technology and teamwork.
Students will develop practical skills and link what they have learnt in the curriculum to real world problems and receive a certificate at the end of the unit.
The STEM Club programme has been designed and adapted from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) learning and developed in partnership with club leaders. It supports essential employability skills and the Gatsby Careers Benchmarks.
