Free Tickets For 'Mandela' At Young Vic
The legend of Nelson Mandela is a story of vision, bravery and determination. These are qualities that anyone would be proud to portray.
But against a system that sought to annihilate him it is all the more remarkable that ‘Madiba’ was able to study, motivate others, overcome, forgive and ultimately rise above his oppression.
Such a man is the epitome of Character, Courage and Conscience. So it was with great delight that HGAED was offered free tickets to a live streamed performance. Ten families responded quickly enough to the advertisement on the website, and they were given links to the show. What a lovely way to spend an evening: live theatre from the comfort of your own sofa!
The Year 10 GCSE Drama team attended the show at the Young Vic. This is part of an ongoing and invaluable relationship which allows our girls to not only be part of the audience but also to participate in a range of workshops over the year. For some of the girls it was the first time they had been to the theatre; a priceless opportunity. Amandla!
It’s all in the music. It’s all in the song.” Carmen, Year 10 GCSE Drama student.
