Photographing Legends - and Everyday Heroes
Year 10 Photography students visited the National Portrait Gallery this term to see Zoe Law’s Legends exhibition, featuring timeless black-and-white portraits of both well-known figures and everyday heroes.
Students toured the exhibition and studied the portraits, observing how Law lights and frames her subjects. They then put into practice what they had learnt from Law’s work by taking part in a workshop, where they captured portraits of each other using a professional photography studio setup.
Following the trip, students have been working on their own projects, photographing the ‘legends’ in their own lives, with brilliant results.
