Free books for World Book Night 2012

Sixth formers, parents and school staff were invited to receive free books yesterday, to celebrate World Book Night 2012.

Trey Nation gave away 24 copies of the ‘Player of Games’ by Iain Banks. “Most of the sixth formers say they don’t have time to read so I’m really surprised and happy that they want to read the book that I’m recommending,” said Trey, as he gave out books to students who queued in the library and to others around the school.

Trey was among 20,000 passionate book lovers across the country giving out books. April 23 is a symbolic date for world literature as it is Shakespeare’s birthday and the day of his death.
