Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich helps set a new world record.
Students of Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich have helped break a world record today, by taking part in the biggest ever reading lesson.
Schools all over the capital, including ours, took up the challenge to set a new Guinness world record as part of the Evening Standard's literacy campaign.
Two thousand pupils sat down for exactly the same lesson on the dot of 10am - creating the largest mass literacy class of its type ever organised.
Teachers across London co-ordinated timetables and taught pupils the same half-hour lesson, using children's author Michael Morpurgo's book Born To Run.
