Finding Your Way Around
We know that one of the things many new Year 7s find daunting is finding their way round what feels like a very BIG school.
You'll be amazed how quickly you'll start to find your way but have a look at the photographs and virtual tour to help you become familiar with some of the important places.
Watch a short film showing you around the school
Here's the main student entrance...
The view from drive and the Harris Wing
This is the quad
Some of our 40+ classrooms
The canteen and outdoor seating
The Learning Resource Centre
And some things you might not expect!
Finally... a map of the whole site
This is a map a student drew of our academy. All the rooms on your timetable will have a letter and a number. See below for what the letters mean.
A = Art block (blue)....even though downstairs there are the humanities rooms (Geography, History and Religious Studies)
N = "New" block (purple) …. even though it doesn’t look very new anymore! All the languages lessons are in here, and our inclusion department for additional support for students.
S = Science block (red)
H = Harris wing (green). THIS is the one that looks new and has all the technology, English and Maths classrooms as well as the library.
G = Gibbs House (yellow). This is the oldest building. This mainly offices and Sixth Form, but also has the music and drama departments and the main hall for assemblies.
