The Scottish Play in a Day for Year 7
Year 7 students were lucky to have specially adapted workshops to introduce them to Shakespeare’s Macbeth ahead of our East Dulwich Literary Festival.
Later this month the entire year group will be rehearing scenes from the play before performing it together for Play-in-a-day, a popular Harris Girls’ Academy tradition
Practioners from the Combat Veterans Players Company joined four year 7 classes who learnt about the main characters and overall plot before exploring specific scenes which will give them a strong foundation for their rehearsals on the 29th of June.
The girls learnt about one of Shakespeare’s most iconic female characters, Lady Macbeth, and one lucky group got to explore the first scene of the play which features the three witches.
There were some pertinent questions and observations from students and we hope that this understanding will shine through in their performance which will kick-off the literary festival.
