Textiles student hits London fashion catwalk
Clothes designed and made by HGAED textiles student Lauren Hobby appeared at London Fashion Week 2010, worn by professional models.
Last year, Lauren joined 130 students from colleges across London and Manchester in workshops on design, sewing skills, print and pattern cutting.
Lauren was one of just 24 students whose work was selected by a specialist panel to progress to the Fashion Futures Summer school in July 2010, where she made a garment alongside fashion professionals.
Lauren and the 23 other finalists had the opportunity to have their garment modelled on the catwalk at the FAD Junior Awards during London Fashion week September 2010.
It was fantastic to see Lauren’s work worn by a professional model during the exclusive fashion award evening.
